Free Workshop Offers Patients an Upfront Discussion on Lung Cancer

LAS VEGAS – December 1, 2015 – Brian Lawenda, M.D., a Board Certified Radiation Oncologist and Clinical Director at 21st Century Oncology is proud to participate in a talk titled “Frankly Speaking About Cancer: Lung Cancer” at The College of Southern Nevada.

This workshop will offer patients and their caretakers a chance to get crucial information about the latest lung cancer treatments, symptom management, as well as tools for early detection and survival. It will be held on Thursday, December 10 from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. at the College of Southern Nevada, 6375 W. Charleston Boulevard, Las Vegas, NV, 89146 in Room K101.

Dr. Lawenda is a Harvard-trained radiation oncologist and Stanford/UCLA-trained medical acupuncturist. He was instrumental in bringing High Dose Rate Skin Brachytherapy to Southern Nevada. He has also received numerous awards, including the “Top Doctor” award in radiation oncology by U.S. News and World Report. Dr. Lawenda serves as a Clinical Professor at the University of Nevada School of Medicine, and is the National Director of the Integrative Oncology and Cancer Survivorship Program for 21st Century Oncology.

Dr. Lawenda will be joined for this workshop by Mark Winkler, M.D., Radiologist and Partner for Steinberg Diagnostic Medical Imaging; Marci Roiter, MSW, LSW, a member of the DaVita HealthCare Partners team; and Lysa Buonanno a stage IV lung cancer survivor.
