Chief Information Security Officer
Barry Axelrod leads the information security team and oversees the company’s information security risk management program, which is focused on protecting the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of all information systems and data.
Prior to joining 21st Century Oncology in the fall of 2017, Mr. Axelrod served as the Information Security Officer for Schumacher Clinical Partners. Prior to that, he was the Vice President of Information Systems for SymMetric Revenue Solutions, the revenue cycle management arm of ECI Healthcare, from 2011 through its acquisition by Schumacher. His prior IT experience includes leadership positions with the Collier County Government, and NeoMedia Technologies. Mr. Axelrod’s engineering management experience includes positions with Symbol Technologies, Pitney Bowes, Bell Labs, and the US Army’s Electronic Warfare Lab at Fort Monmouth, NJ.
Mr. Axelrod holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Rutgers University, an M.S in Electrical Engineering from Fairleigh Dickinson University and an M.B.A. from the University of New Haven. He is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional and a named inventor on 11 U.S. patents.
