Senior Vice President of Payer Contracting and Relations
Mark Zickel joined the 21st Century Oncology team in 2017 as Senior Vice President of Payer Contracting and Relations. Mr. Zickel is responsible for managing relationships with national, regional and local payers across the United States. These responsibilities include executing and overseeing a comprehensive strategic contracting and reimbursement plan, negotiating payer contracts, and developing and maintaining collaborative working relationships with key payers which include health plans, national insurance carriers, third party administrators, physician/hospital organizations, and lease networks throughout the 21st Century Oncology provider practice site geographic markets.
Mr. Zickel’s career includes more than 30 years of experience in the managed care industry on both the provider and payer side. He has extensive expertise in payer and provider contracting, provider reimbursement, health plan operations, business development, key account management and strategic planning. Prior to joining 21st Century Oncology, Mr. Zickel served as Vice President, Provider Network Management for Health Alliance Plan, a subsidiary of the Henry Ford Health System in Detroit, Michigan. He has also served in executive leadership roles with several regional and national managed care companies including Priority Health, CMG Health, Prudential, Care America and United Healthcare.
Mr. Zickel holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from Michigan State University.
