On-Board Imaging with built-in CT scanner

On-Board Imaging (OBI) makes it possible for your radiation therapy treatment team to take CT scans of your tumor right before the start of each treatment session, and make sure you are correctly positioned on the treatment table.

The imaging equipment is integrating directly into the treatment equipment. It is controlled by two robotic arms that rotate 360° around you to create a three-dimensional picture to confirm the location and configuration of the tumor.

On-Board Imaging Benefits

  • High-quality images mean your therapy team can spot, in real time, any anatomical differences that may require a change in how you are positioned on the table or a change in your treatment plan
  • The imaging equipment is mounted right on the treatment machine, so you don’t have to move between the imaging scans and the radiation delivery
  • The robotic technology speeds up the amount of time it takes to get you correctly positioned for treatment
