About Dr. Castillo

Dr. Castillo is a Board Certified General Surgeon with fellowship training in Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery. Dr. Castillo completed medical school at the Universidad Americana in Managua, Nicaragua and continued on to complete his surgical residency at the University of Miami. While in training at the University of Miami, Dr. Castillo was a member of the Transfusion Committee, Patient Safety Committee, Resident Evaluation Committee and received the prestigious Resident of the Year award, 2012. Dr. Castillo completed his Fellowship training in Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic surgery at the Oregon Health and Science University in Portland, OR. He also participated in a 2 year Human Investigation Program while in Oregon in addition to publishing and presenting numerous journal articles and abstracts in peer-reviewed publications and at medical meetings. He is a current member of the American Hepto-Pancreato-Biliary Association. Dr. Castillo has privileges at Wellington Regional Medical Center, JFK Medical Center and Palms West Hospital.
